Description

GATA4 is a zinc-finger transcription factor critical for heart development and function and reproductive organ development. It regulates genes involved in cardiomyocyte differentiation, heart tube formation, and chamber morphogenesis. GATA4 activity is controlled through promoter regulation, epigenetic modifications, and interactions with co-factors such as TBX5 and NKX2 5, as well as signaling pathways like BMP and TGF-β. Mutations or dysregulation of GATA4 are associated with congenital heart defects, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, and certain reproductive disorders. Emerging evidence also links GATA4 to aging-related processes and DNA damage response.

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.125 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Additional Product Notes

For intracellular flow cytometry (ICFC) we recommend CytoFast™ Fix/Perm Buffer Set (Cat. No. 426803) for fixation and permeabilization.
